Bookmarks!

Bookmarks!

One of the major influences behind this site are books.

Lots of books.

And when you’re using lots of books all at the same time you soon easily lose your place from one book to another.

To help you with your research, and your warm Sunday afternoon reading, East Farthing Smial‘s great illustrator, @hesir (Gareth Sleightholme to you and me) has kindly provided two fantastic pieces of art that East Farthing Smial have been able to turn into very valuable, research friendly bookmarks!

The reverse of the bookmarks have a little verse on the back, influenced by the Old English poem “The Wanderer”, namely the part that inspired Tolkien to write Aragorn’s Lament of the Rohirrim, as well as providing a key part to his valedictory address, rendered into good old East Yorkshire speak by KitteeCat.

We will be dropping these bookmarks around at various upcoming Tolkien meetings (including this years Oxonmoot) as well as being made available at the many art and comic-con exhibitions attended by @hesir himself.

These are the three different images, with the verse that is on the back of each bookmark underneath.
